Latvia thoroughly troubled the Czechs
The Czech team, who entered the match as a favourite, started very nervously in front of home spectators and got the first goal after only 126 seconds, Laivinš scored from distance. The Czechs were slowly plucking up the courage and created several good chances. But only the one from Folta succeeded. Immediately after that they got to lead when Zálesný skilfully waited and then netted. In the following power play they could have expected other goals but no shot went between the posts.
