Matthias Hofbauer: It’s a satisfaction for us |

The captain of the Swiss team Matthias Hofbauer hung a bronze medal on his neck today. After the lost semifinal with Sweden his team managed to concentrate on the bronze medal game and defeated the home Czech team. “There’s no point in thinking about yesterday anymore. Now we can already celebrate,” Hofbauer said after the game.

Skružný: It was the best championship in history |

The numerous Czech spectators were nourishing the hope of bronze medals for exactly 22 seconds. After the shot of Vojtěch Skalík the Czechs turned the score of the match but Hofbauer brothers made up a very quick goal and sent both teams to play overtime.

Antener: Yesterday we played a similar game |

Great relief was apparent in the eyes of the Swiss national team coach Peter Düggeli. His team managed to beat the Czechs in overtime and after yesterday’s unlucky loss with the Swedes they improved their mood by winning bronze medals.

Morning time does not suit Norway and Latvia |

Similarly to many matches in O2 arena also the match for the fifth place between Latvia and Norway was very equal. The Latvians won at the end but if there had not been the Norwegian problems in the first period, everything could have been different.

The Swiss have the bronze after beating the home team |
|
Switzerland defended bronze medals from 2006. In the 3rd place game they beat the home team 5:4 in overtime. Simon Stucki was the author of the decisive goal with less than one minute left to be played in overtime.
