Sazka Arena, Prague
Play off and placement games
Capacity: 17,000 Seats
Final play off games and placement matches will be played in the most modern multipurpose indoor arena in Europe with a capacity up to 17,000 spectators. This arena was built for hosting World Chapionship in ice hockey in 2004. There are lots of sport, music and social events taking place year round. It is a home arena of the premier division ice hockey team HC Slavia Praha as well.


ČEZ Arena, Ostrava

Capacity: 9,700 Seats
Preliminary group games will be played in a multifunctional arena with a capacity of 9,700 seats. ČEZ Arena (former Palace of Culture and Sport) – one of dominants of Ostrava was finished and highly opened in 1986. Between the years 2003 and 2004 it was reconstructed and modernized and since 2004 it is named ČEZ Arena. It is a home arena of the premier division ice hockey team HC Vitkovice Steel and during its existence it became a significant sport-cultural center.

Sazka Arena renamed to O2 arena
Since Saturday, the most exclusive sports arena in the Czech Republic has a brand new name. As to the contract conditions, O2 has acquired the rights for the arena´s name for the next five years. The interior of the venue is also to change and on the December´s World championship the players should play their games in a blue-lit atmosphere. Read more...

WFC 2008 in Ice-Hockey Arenas

Czech organizers of the World Championship have taken a personal challenge in making the biggest floorball event of 2008 open for utmost visitors. Thus, they have decided that the best and loftiest venues for elite A Division games will be two ice-hockey arenas.

B Division Venues

WFC B Division Preliminary Group games will be played in the Ostrava´s ČEZ Arena minor hall with the capacity of 1000 spectators. The sports hall is just at several dozen meters distance from the main playing area and offers an easy opportunity to native visitors and floorball fans to visit also the games of countries they would hardly ever see under normal circumstances.
