Sazka Arena renamed to O2 arena |

Since Saturday, the most exclusive sports arena in the Czech Republic has a brand new name. As to the contract conditions, O2 has acquired the rights for the arena´s name for the next five years. The interior of the venue is also to change and on the December´s World championship the players should play their games in a blue-lit atmosphere.
Czech Floorball Union President Filip Šuman on the issue: “We have been advised of the negotiations with O2 for a couple of months but the WFC preparations could not wait so e.g. the first wave of promotional materials has already been printed. So we agreed on clear conditions in the contract and we may still use the materials printed before the arena was renamed.”
For the WFC itself the rename will be of no practical effect. On the contrary, talks between the organizers and O2 will be held in order to negotiate a possible cooperation in the promotion of the championship.
