For the forthcoming World Championship in Ostrava and Prague, Czech Railways, as the official transport operator of the 2008 World Floorball Championship, are preparing a campaign similar to the year-long project supporting the men’s first league – Fortuna Extraliga – called “By train to the sports”.
To the visitors of the World Floorball Championship Czech Railways will offer a discounted fare called VLAK+ for return tickets from all Czech Railways stations to any target railway station starting with the name of Ostrava (from 6th to 10th December 2008) and to any target railway station starting with the name of Praha/Prague (from 13th to 14th December 2008). The discounted fare VLAK+ for the ticket back will be valid only if the ticket is stamped by the organizer on the front side with the name of the 2008 World Floorball Championship.
Tickets with the VLAK+ discount will be sold for the above-mentioned events for the 2nd class only and exclusively as return tickets. The standard validity of return tickets is two days. So, if a passenger goes to the target station on one day and returns back on the next day, the return ticket is valid until midnight of the second day. Basically, it means that if somebody decides to spend the entire final weekend in Prague, with this ticket they can travel to Prague on Saturday morning and return back on Sunday afternoon.
