Morning time does not suit Norway and Latvia
Similarly to many matches in O2 arena also the match for the fifth place between Latvia and Norway was very equal. The Latvians won at the end but if there had not been the Norwegian problems in the first period, everything could have been different.

Also Johnny Petersen, the coach of Norway, agreed: „The first period was certainly the key moment but the fact that we got another goal after we had scored and got to the match again did not help much.“ Ole Mossin Olesen, the best Norway player, said other reasons: „After difficult matches with Estonia and Switzerland we had a good break before today’s one. We are also not used to playing so early in the morning, it might have been the reason why we were not able to get to the right working temperature.“

It is hard to find out if a longer warm-up had helped the Norwegians before the match, according to the Latvian coach Grunckis this match was very important to his team but they did not want to take chances: „We were very well-prepared to the fact that the opponent forechecks actively therefore we had to use all our goal chances and we succeeded in it.“
